How does Adipex work?

   Adipex (Generic Name: phentermine) is one of the most effective and popular diet/weight loss pills currently available on the market. Precautions:

Taking Adipex:

   Adipex is generally taken one or two times a day before or between the meals (on an empty stomach) with a full glass of water. Side effects:

Drug interactions:

You may need certain changes in your diabetes therapy (insulin or other drug) while you continue taking Adipex. Adipex is also known to impair the effectiveness of guanethidine (Ismelin) resulting in higher blood pressure. The following drugs from tricyclic antidepressants group are known to reduce the effectiveness of Adipex:
- amitriptyline (Elavil)
- amoxapine (Asendin)
- doxepin (Sinequan)
- nortriptyline (Pamelor)
- imipramine (Tofranil)
- clomipramine (Anafranil)
- protriptyline (Vivactil)
- desipramine (Norpramin)
An interaction of Adipex with other drugs not mentioned above is also possible. Missed dose and overdose If you miss a dose and it's still enough time before you need to take your next dose you can just take the missed one when you remember. If it's almost time for the next dose or you intend to go to sleep soon it is better to skip the missed dose and continue taking Adipex as before. Don't double the dose to compensate for the one you've missed! Adipex overdose symptoms may include tremor, rapid breathing, restlessness, confusion, panic, hallucinations, aggressiveness, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, irregular heartbeat and seizures. In case of overdose emergency medical attention is needed.
